Suspect injured by his `accomplices`

BAHAWALPUR: A suspect allegedly involved in over 50 criminal cases was injured in the firing by his `accomplices` during an encounter in the limits of Lodhran city police on Wednesday.

According to police PRO, on receipt of an emergency call that three unidentified robbers had snatched motorcycle and cash from a man, a police party chased the suspect.

He said the police cornered the suspects, who opened fire that was retaliated.

He claimed that during the shootout, a suspect, identified as Arshad, was injured in the firing by his two accomplices, who managed to flee.

The police claimed to have recovered the snatched motorcycle and cash, along with a pistol, from the injured suspect, who wasarrested and shifted to the Lodhran DHQ Hospital for treatment.

A case against the injured suspect and his fleeing accomplices has been registered.

TORTURED: Four men allegedly kidnapped a man at gunpoint, shaved his eyebrows, mustaches and head after severe torture and recorded his nude video in fivemarla scheme in the limits of Kahror Pacca police station.

According to the police, armed suspects Shehbaz, Hassan, Tariq and Ijaz allegedly kidnapped Binyamin over a monetary dispute.

The suspects allegedly tied up the victim, tortured him and shaved his mustaches, eyebrows and head. They also removed his clothes and recorded avideo.

The police registered an FIR (No 236/25) against the suspects on the complaint of the victim`s brother, Hafiz Azim, and claimed tohave arrested all of them.

THREE DIE: Three youths died in two separate road accidents in Bahawalpur district.

As per police, Kashif and Ikram were on a motorcycle when it was hit by a speeding car on Ahmedpur East highway near Noorpur Noranga on Tuesday night. As a result both died on the spot.

According to police, the car driver managed to flee and was being traced.

In the second accident, a youth, Mushtaq, who returned from Saudi Arabia after three years, was going somewhere on a bike, along with his niece when it was hit by a car, driven by Hakim Shehzad.

As result, Mushtaq died on the spot, while his niece suffered serious injuries and was shifted to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital for treatment.

Police registered case against against the car driver, who was yet to be arrested.
