LAKKI MARWAT: The Lakki Marwat and Punjab police authorities have agreed to improve security coordination to counter terrorism effectively and improve law and order in the border areas.

The law-and-order situation in the border areas was discussed during a meeting held at the Darra Tang checkpost here, a police official said on Wednesday.

He said Sargodha Regional Police Officer Shezad Asif Khan, Mianwali DPO Akhtar Farooq and Lakki Marwat DPO Mohammad Jawad Ishaq attended the meeting.

The police officials from both the sides discussed the security situation in the border area with special focus on security arrangements at the border checkposts.

They stressed the need for improving close coordination to counter challenges in the border areas effectively.

The official said that it was the second meeting on border security coordination during the last one month. — Correspondent
