he law department of the Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) hosted a reference in memory of the late Asma Jahangir and to pay tribute to her for her advocacy and efforts for human rights and her services for the nation.
Retired Justice Nasira Javed Iqbal said Asma Jahangir was a social worker and human rights activist and that her efforts for women`s rights cannot be forgotten.
Barrister Qasim Chauhan said it was important for students to know about Asma Jahangir, who he said was a brave woman and had stood against oppressors.
FJWU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Samina Amin Qadir said the new generation should also work for humanity and for protecting the rights of people. She presented souvenirs to guests and appreciated the law department`s efforts to organise the seminar.
