Protest over flaws in autopsy report of minor girl

FAISALABAD: Dozens of people besieged the Jaranwala Tehsil Headquarters Hospital on Thursday in protest at, what they said, the issue of a wrong autopsy report of the minor girl to save policemen.
Carrying pictures of the minor girl and slogans for justice, protesters chanted slogans against the medical superintendent.
They said the criminals who had killed the minor girl were still at large due to the inefficiency of the police. They said the people had concerns about the safety of their children after the rape and murder of the minor on Sunday last. Police are looking for clues in their search for the killers.
When the body was recovered, police saidstray dogs had mutilated the body.
Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has taken suo motu notice of the incident and sought report from the Punjab inspector general on Friday.
On Tuesday, markets in Jaranwala remained closed and lawyers boycotted courts proceedings on a call by committee formed by lawyers, traders, religious and political leaders of Jaranwala.
MPA Saba Sadiq and Commissioner Momin Agha visited the parents of the minor girl and said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was looking into the incident.
Also, suspected kidnappers and murderers of the Government College University Faisalabad student were also at large.
The female student was kidnapped on March 25 and her body was recovered from a canalin Dijkot after three days.
