BAHAWALPUR: AntiTerrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday sentenced three alleged activists of the banned Lashkar-eJhangvi to two-year rigorous imprisonment each along with confiscation of their properties in separate cases.
According to a counterterrorism department spokesman, Muhammad Ameen alias Abdul Qadeer, a resident of Jauharabad, was convicted in a case 39/17 (Aug 3,2017)registered against him under sections 7 ATAand 5 ESA.
In the second case, Haris Ahmed was sentenced under sections 4/5 ESA and 7 ATA. As per the spokesman, hand grenades and other explosives were recovered from the convicts.
Nadeem Iqbal, a resident of Ghausia Town, Faisalabad, was handed down two-year imprisonment and the confiscation of his property.
A case was registered against him on June 23, 2017 under sections 5 Explosives Act and 7 ATA.
