11 factory workers injured in road accident

KASUR: At least 11 factory workers were injured when their bus collided with a truck near Bhonikar Mor on Multan Road in the limits of Pattoki police station.
The bus was on its way to Manga Mandi when it went out of control near Khankay Mor and hit a truck from the rear side.
According to Rescue 1122, the injured people were rushed to a hospital from where three of them were referred to Lahore in a critical condition.
The bus driver, however, managed his escape.
Police are looking into the matter.
SHOT DEAD: Three robbers shot dead a man at Jhandwala village in the limits of Chunian police station on Wednesday.However, the police with the help of villagers overpowered the robbers after an exchange of fire. According to police, three robbers intercepted motorcyclist Muhammad Hadyat at gunpoint when he was going to Allahabad from Chunian. When he put up resistance, one of the robbers opened fire killing Hadyat on the spot.
The firing alerted the villagers who rushed to the spot and overpowered one of the robbers while his accomplices managed to escape.
The villagers informed police and continued to chase the fleeing robbers.
Meanwhile, the robbers entered a field and opened indiscriminate fire which was retaliated by the police.
Police and villagers overpowered the robbers. The villagers also thrashed the gunmen beforehanding them over to police. The police shifted them to an undisclosed location.
Later, scores of villagers staged a protest demonstration on Depalpur Road near Allahabad Chowk against lawlessness and police failure to control street crime.
The protesters blocked traffic for about one hour by placing the body of a victim on the road.
They demanded that the arrested robbers be shot dead publicly.
The agitators dispersed peacefully when the rain started.
THIEVES: Police arrested three villagers for torturing and shaving the heads of two thieves as punishment for stealing electricity fans from a house in Sheikhpura village near Pakistan-India border in the limits of Ganda Singh police station on Wednesday.
Police alerted when the videoof the incident went viral on social media.
Reports said two thieves entered the house of Jamil, but were caught red-handed while taking away a pedestalfan. Police also took the thieves into custody, but did not book them in a criminal case for want of an application.
ROOF COLLAPSE: A woman and her minor daughter were buried alive while four others were injured when the roof of their room caved in at Daoki village in the limits of Mandi Usmanwala village on Wednesday.
Villagers and Rescue 1122 took out the bodies of Motia Bibi and her four-year-old daughter, Zamaar, from the debris.
Whereas Abubakr, Ishrat Bibi, three-year-old Jannat Bibi and six-month-old Hareem suffered serious injuries and were rushed to the DHQ Hospital.
