Allied Hospital MS removed

TOBA TEK SINGH: Allied Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Arshad Ali Cheema was transferred on Wednesday and directed to report to the department.

The development comes in the wake of Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Nagvi`s tour to the hospital on Tuesday where patients and their attendants complained about poor arrangements.

The transfer order, issued by the Punjab Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department, says that Dr Cheema was directed to report to the department on administrative grounds.

DIES: A man died of a heartattackonWednesday at a free flour distribution point on Jhang Road in Toba Tek Singh.

The police said Rashid Jamil of Chuttiana Chak 345-GB had come to the centre to get flour in the morning when there was no rush. He, however, felt chest pain and fell.

Rescue 1122 ambulance shifted him to the DHQ hospital where he expired.

UAF: The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, will have a state-of-the-art National Handball Academy and Resource Centre equipped withmodern facilities.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmed Khan laid the foundation stone of the academy. The stadium will be established at the sports facility adjacent to the University Hockey Ground and will be completed in a year.

Dr Khan said that for the last few decades, the sports fields have presented a desertedlook due to students` lack of interest in sports. He said sports not only increase physical and mental strength but also create a sportsmanlike spirit against the odds in life.

KILLED: A robbery attempt turned deadly late on Tuesday when villagers in the Faisalabad Saddar police area encountered three gunmen near the Rakh Branch Canal bridge adjacent to Chak 230-RB on Jhang Road.

According to witnesses, the robbers tried to loot some people, but the villagers raised an alarm and rushed to the scene. In response, the robbers opened fire, prompting the villagers to return fire. After the exchange of gunfire ended, the villagers found that one of the robbers, Asif Mukhtar, was killed, and another, Ashfaq Gulzar, was critically injured. The third accomplice, however, fled.

Ashfaq was shifted to the Allied Hospital.
