HYDERABAD: Two suspects were killed and a policeman was wounded in an alleged encounter in the Tandojam area within the jurisdiction of the Rahuki police station on Saturday.

Hyderabad SSP Adeel Hussain Chandio told the media that a police party conducted a raid on a place in Rahuki on a tip-off. An encounter ensued in which two suspects were shot dead and one policeman suffered injuries.

He recalled that a salesman, Danish, was robbed of cash by armed suspects in Rahuki a few days ago. He said the injured salesman shared information with police after which profiles of some suspects were checked and the raid was conducted.

He said the condition of the policeman, Waqar, wounded in the encounter, was now stable.

The SSP identified one of the dead suspects as Irfan Narejo, a proclaimed offender, and the other one, as Nadir Punjabi, wanted by police in around a dozen criminal cases.-Staff Correspondent
