Imran seeks people`s support to curb deforestation in KP

MANSEHRA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday asl Speaking at a public meeting in Dubair area of Kohistan district on Tuesday, he said that valleys of Kohistan were paradise on earth but handful of people were not only plaguing the natural beauty of these valleys but also polluting the pleasant environment of the world.
Imran Khan said that deforestation in the province was unacceptable and those involved would betaken to justice.
Mr Khan said that a national park would also be established in Sput valley which, he said, he would inaugurate probably in the month of June.
The PTI chairman said that Kohistan had the potential to generate thousands of megawatt of electrify if its hydel resources were exploited.
The PTI chairman said that his party wanted an independent and sovereign Pakistan which could face national and international challenges, and where there was rule of law and constitution.
He accused the political parties of conspiring against PTI and said that over the years ruling class had plundered the national wealth and weakened the country`s existence by bowing before what he said their masters.
Former MNA Malik Aurangzeb announced joining the PTI on the occasion.
Imran Khan claimed thathe was not craving for the post of prime minister, and merely wanted to end the status quo, which widened the gulf between the rich and the poor.
He claimed that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were realising the change in their lives, as the PTI-led ruling coalition in the province had taken steps to eliminate corruption in government departments and officials were made subservient to people.
He said that every school going child was being provided with free books and that first time in the history of KP the students` enrolment ratio had been increased to a reasonable level.
Imran Khan said that middle stump of the railways minister Saad Rafique had been uprooted after the election tribunal`s decision ordering re-election in NA-125 constituency.
`The tribunal`s decision might pave way for general elections in 2015,` he said.
