KHAR: The All Bajaur Political Parties Alliance on Friday condemned a group of tribal elders for threatening to launch an armed action against family of Nisarul Haq, a local resident who had filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court to seek disqualiñcation of two local parliamentarians for being `Afghan` nationals.

In this connection, a meeting of the alliance, an umbrella organisation of various political and religious parties, was held here with its president Qari Abdul Majeed in the chair.

The participants showed concern over the elders` threat to launch `Lashkar Kashi` against the family of Haq for moving court against MNA Haji Bismillah Khan, and his son, Senator Hidayatullah Khan, challenging their Pakistani nationalities.

The government should take serious action against the elders as they were trying to take the law into their own hands, said MrMajeed.

He termed the decision of tribal elders a clear violation of tribal customs, and said according tolocal tradition `Lashkar Kashi` was only taken against those who were involved in serious criminal activities.

The participants pointed out that the petitioner was a respectable citizen of the agency and he did not violate the local traditions nor committed a serious crime by filing a petition in the Islamabad High Court against the local lawmakers.

They asked the elders to respect the court and avoid taking law in their hands.

They appealed to the chief justice of the Islamabad High Court to form a joint investigation team to determine whether the lawmakers were citizens of Pakistan or Afghanistan.

They demanded of the local administration to ensure safety of the petitioner and his family members.

It is to be mentioned here that hundreds of tribal elders of different areas of the agency who claimed to be the close aides of Bismillah Khan during a meeting a few days ago had warned Nisarul Haq to withdraw his petition immediately, or face `Lashkar Kashi`
