IN the wake of a spike in coronavirus cases in the country, there is a blame-game going on involving various elements. Political leaders, media and medical professionals believe that the continued rise is due to the return of overseas Pakistanis, people`s disregard for the SOPs, social gatherings, exposure of children in schools, etc.
What is not being mentioned in the media or during social discussions is the exposure to the people owing to mass agitations, political gatherings and processions; all at the behest of political parties in their bid to display their power and popularity. There has lately been a continuous political activity with total disregard of the repeated calls from the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) to reduce mass gatherings.
I wonder why the media is shy of putting the blame on irresponsible, unconcerned and selfish politicians for the recent hike in Covid cases.
