TOBA TEK SINGH: Three members of a gypsy family died and another was injured when a wall constructed to support an earthen spur of the Chenab river collapsed on their makeshift house in Jhang on Wednesday.

Rescue 1122 and Jhang police reported thattheincidenttook place on alink road which leads from Jhang-Sargodha Road to Jhang-Bhakkar Road near Adda Aliabad. As a result of caving in of wall on their hut, four people were trapped under the debris.

Rescuers with the help of locals shif ted them to the Jhang DHQ hospital where three of them succumbed to their injuries.

The deceased were identified as Malangand his two minor sons Shan and Mithu.

Malang`s wife Saima Bibi was admitted to the DHQ hospital.

DROWN: Selfie craze took life of a boy who drowned while his friend lost his life while trying to rescue him in Jhang on Wednesday.

Rescue 1122 officials said Muhammad Yaseen, 17, a resident of Athara Hazari, was taking his selfie with his mobile phone camera on the bank of TrimmuHead Sindhnai canal at the bridge on Jhang-Bhakkar Road when he lost his balance and slipped into the canal. His friend Shahjahan (of Mohallah Ghousia, Jhang) also jumped into the canal to rescue him but drowned.

Rescue divers continued efforts to fish out the bodies a day after the incident.

ROBBER INJURED: An alleged robberwas shot at and injured in Jhang on Thursday morning.

Police said a Saddar police team was returning after recovering weapon on the information of murder accused Saglain Shah. When the police van reached near Mauza Kalkrai, they said, three armed motorcyclists attacked the van to free the accused and started firing on policemen.

Police returned fire and the accused was injured and admitted to the DHQ hospital.

A press release said Saglain was wanted by police in 42 robbery and murder cases.

ACCIDENTS: A man died while four members of his family were injured when their car collided with a motorcycle and overturned after hitting a road divider.

Rescue 1122 officials said the accident took place on Wednesday on FaisalabadSamundri Road. Asad, 23, died whileRehman, 20, his brother Ali Raza, 16, another brother Ahmad, 12, and their cousin Salman, 19, were hospitalised with injuries.

On Sargodha Road, a motorcyclist was run over and killed and his mother injured in an accident. The deceased was identified as Naveed, 32, and his mother Nasreen, 52, was admitted to the Allied Hospital.

Two friends died and another was injured when a car hit their motorcycle near Rajana motorway (M-3) interchange on Toba-Chichawatni Road.

The deceased were identified as Waqas, 20, and Pervez, 18, while their wounded friend Tahir was shif ted to the DHQ hospital. Both car riders Fraz, 23, and Maqsood, 21, were referred by the DHQ hospital doctors to the Allied Hospital.
