Four of family die in bike-van collision

KASUR: Four members of a f amily were killed in a bikevan collision here on Tuesday on Kot Radha Kishan-Changa Manga Road near Bhoay Asil.

According to Changa Manga police, Muhammad Imran (14) along with his three sisters Tayaba Bibi (8), Laiba (15) and Iqra (22) was on his way to Kot Radha Kishan from Galanwala village to exchange Eid greetings with his maternal grandmother.

Near Bhoay Asil, the bike they were riding collided with a van coming from the opposite direction on Kot Radha Kishan-Changa Manga Road.

The collision was so severe that all the bike riders were killed on the spot. Rescue 1122 have shifted the bodies to Kot Radha Kishan THQ Hospital.

Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz had taken notice of the incident and sought report from the district police. Police have impounded the van and lodged a murder case against van driver identified as Allah Ditta.

In another incident, a woman died while two others suffered injuries as the bikes they were riding fell from the overhead bridge near Purani Mandi on Tuesday in Pattoki police precincts. A bike carrying Muhammad Jamil and Saima Bibi collided with another two-wheeler driven by Muhammad Akram.

The bikes collided where the bridge took a dangerous turn that usually caused accidents. According to some eyewitnesses, the bikes fell from the bridge after the collision.

Rescue 1122 have shifted the injured to Pattoki THQ Hospital where Saima Bibi succumbed to her injuries while injured Jamil and Akram were referred to Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, owing to their critical condition. Police are looking into the matter.

The bridge built over the railway track in the heart of the city had already taken several lives due to its faulty turn and is called `Killer Bridge` (Khooni Pul).
