THE Sind Government have appointed Mr N.A. Faroogi, PAS, their Home Secretary, as Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Sind, with special powers, announced Pir Ilahi Bakhsh, the Sind Premier speaking at the opening Ceremony of Nigar Hotel, Karachi, on Wednesday [May 5], three days after being sworn in as the Sind Premier.

`We promised our people that we will give top priority to the work of eradicating corruption from the Province. It was the first item on the agenda of the first meeting of the Sind Cabinet, which met today at the Sind Governor`s House,` he said.

Mr Faroogi, the Premier added, had special powers. He could take action against any officer of the Sind Government summarily, and could investigate even the Cabinet Ministers.

`I have also made provision for a special investigation staff, directly under me. I will take good care that even two members of this special CID do not know one another. There willbe one such spy in every district to keep constant vigil on the activities of the district Officers.
