BANNU: A man suspected of killing five people, including two brothers and a child, was killed in a police encounter near the forests along the Jamun Road here, officials said on Tuesday.

They said that the suspect, Adnan, was wanted in connection with the murder of five individuals. The action was taken when the police received information that the accused was present in the Khishni Kallah area.

The suspect opened fire on the police in an attempt to evade arrest. The police retaliated, killing the suspect.

Adnan had allegedly killed two brothers and a child at a shop on Jaman Road on Sunday.

The family of the slain persons had placed the bodies on a road in protest, demanding the arrest of the suspect.

Meanwhile, the remaining two abducted employees of the Water and Sanitation Services Company, Bannu, were also set free here on Tuesday.

Five employees of the company were kidnapped the other day; however, three of them were released following the efforts of a jirga. Correspondent
