Motorist arrested for attacking traffic official

RAWALPINDI: A traffic police official was allegedly attacked, injured and threatened by a motorist in the limits of the Kohsar police in Islamabad on Saturday.
Mohammad Aslam, assistant sub-inspector (ASI), lodged an FIR with the police stating that he was on duty on Margalla Road when he spotte d a car with black papers on its windows and unspecified registration plate coming from Jatoi Chowk.
As he signaled the driver to stop, he accelerated the speed and hit and injured the traffic official on his right knee and hand.
The driver after parking the car on the road got out, pounced upon the ASI, used abusive language, pushed him away and also threatened to kill him as he was carrying a pistol, said the FIR.
The motorist, identified as Waheedullah Khan, a resident of Peshawar, was later arrested by the police.
