LONDON: Mr Tamizuddin Khan, President of the Pakistan Constituent Assembly ... today [June 5] declared that Pakistan`s new Constitution will rest on `broad principles of democracy, universal brotherhood, equality of rights and justice`. The Constitution will also oblige the State to ensure that the Muslims can lead true Islamic lives, he added.

He emphasised that `the minorities will have full religious and cultural freedom.

Of the pattern of the new constitution, he said that it would be a Federal type and would follow `the American model` which `conforms more to the Islamic system of Government`.
