KARACHI: All district administrators have been asked to ensure cleanliness around Eidgahs, mosques and imambargahs, and to malce sure that that water is available for ablution purposes for those who come to offer Eid prayers. This instruction has been issued by local government minister Jam Khan Shoro.
The minister further directed that in case of rains during Eid, the leaves of essential staff be cancelled and the staff concerned be deployed to clear storm water from the roads.
In view of the monsoon rains, he said, all required machinery and generators be kept on standby.
The minister also directed the managing director of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board to clean overflowing sewerage gutters so that people do not suffer from overflowing sewerage. Also, where ever complaints of sewerage are received from, the minister directed the staff to attend to them.
