IMRAN Khan has squandered valuable moral and political capital by losing out on rigging allegations. The judicial commission report has delivered a damaging verdict from Imran`s point of view.
He needs to do some serious soulsearching. The question now arises whether he is mature and sagacious enough to understand the nuances of politics and the complex dimensions of statecraft.
He has displayed naivety and obstinacy that leaves him with no option to recant his earlier rigid stances begotten out of blind prejudices. He is driven by atavistic instinct and medieval racism that he tries to pass off as a love for tradition and hallowed tribal mores.
With his childish and petulant handling of the rigging allegations and a failure to adduce adequate evidence in support of his strident accusations he has exposed himself to ridicule and censure by his followers as well as detractors. A serious question mark hangs over his leadership potential now.
