SMARTPHONES have become an integral part of our lives. They are now an inseparable part of our existence. The advantages of unprecedented connectivity continues to bring revolutionary change in our lives. However, children`s unrestricted access to these gadgets renders them vulnerable in many ways.
It exposes them to inappropriate material.
Children as young as seven have been found browsing nude and pornographic sites.
Excessive usage of smart phones also causes personality disorders.Children remain engrossed in smart phones playing games instead of participating in physical activities essential for mental and physical growth. Moreover, children can be enticed and trapped by internet-bullies. Cyber bullying has become common and assumed alarming proportions. To protect children from these vulnerabilities, a great responsibility lies upon parents. They should not stop children from using smart phones but regulate their activities.
