SIALKOT: A 65-yearold vendor, A bdul Ghafoor, on Sunday drowned in the BRB Canal, Daska.

The vendor tried to cool himself off and went into deep where he drowned.

The divers of the Rescue 1122 fished out his body.

He was laid to rest at a Gojra graveyard.CASE: The Daska police have registered acase against aman on the allegation of threatening a widow and her family with dire consequences for her refusal to marry him.

The widow claims that the suspect was a friend of her late husband Irfan Ahmed and wanted to marry her but she refused.

She alleged that the suspect started threatening her by making telephone calls and demanded that senior police officers provide security to her and her family.

Police have registered a case against the suspect.
