SHIKARPUR: Four assailants riding a motorcycle shot dead a youth late on Monday evening in a third such attack during the Eid days that have left three men and a five-year-old girl dead in Ranjhoo Marfani village of Shikarpur district.

Manzoor Marfani and his daughter, Naila (5) were shot dead by a group of armed men belonging to the rival group apparently on account of an old enmity between them when the victims were going to offer Eid prayers within the village on Saturday. During an armed clash that followed, another person, Piyaro Marfani, was also killed.

On Monday evening, a group of four armed men riding motorcycles ambushed a youth, Bashir Marfani, while he along with his wife and mother was buying food in the nearby Jagan village, SHO Saeed Agani of the Humayun police station said.

The body of the 20-year-old victim was handed over to his heirs after a post-mortem examination at the Shikarpur Civil Hospital.
