HYDERABAD: A Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London activist who had gone missing about five months ago appeared before local reporters on Tuesday to announce his dissociation with the party.
Abid Ghauri was the party`s zonal committee member who had won the election for the chairmanship of UC-75.
Explaining his going missing and later his family`s act of moving court against his alleged `enforced disappearance`, Abid told reporters that actually he had gone missing somewhere within the country where he also lost his mobile phone and suffered from jaundice and severe kidney issues. That`s why he could not contact his family, he argued, and informed the media that he managed to return home ahead of Eidul Azha.
Abid evaded the questions posed by reporters and wound up the press conference abruptly.
The activist, who looked very weak and felt difficulty in speaking to others, declared that he was no more with the MOM-L, and called its chief, Altaf Hussain, a traitor. Abid condemned him for using abusive and objectionable language against Pakistan and its vital institutions, and said his [Abid`s] parents and ancestors were faithful to this country and he himself had always been a patriotic citizen.
