OKARA: A man was electrocuted while six other people were treated for electric shocks at the Okara District Headquarters Hospital late on Monday.

In Ghaziabad near Jan-iMoula graveyard, Sharafat died when an iron rod, he was holding touched live wires. As he fell and his family members Aashir, Ghafooran Bibi and Shakoor and some neighbores rushed to save him, all of them suffered electric shocks.

Sharafat died at the scene while others were shifted to the hospital where Aashir was still under treatment while remaining had been discharged.

In another incident, Waqas (12) died from electric shocks in his house in village 38/D.
