Two commit suicide; feud claims man`s life

KOHAT: A young man and a girl committed suicide, while a family dispute claimed a man`s life in separate incidents here on Monday.

Police said a 17-year-old girl, Mehnaz Bibi, hanged herself from ceiling fan of her room in Pershai area of Gumbat. They said cause of the incident couldn`t be known. The police took the body to the KDA divisional hospital for autopsy.

Police registered a case on the complaint of the victim`s brother, Saifullah, and began further investigations.

Similarly, 21-year-old Bilawal Hassan shot himself dead with a pistol in Chakar Kot Bala area on Hangu road.

He died on way to hospital.

His body was handed over to relatives after postmortem.

The cantonment police registered case on the statement of his brother, Mehmood ul Hassan, and initiated investigations.

Meanwhile, Fazal Wahid was gunned down by rivals in his house in Laal Mela area of Muhammadzai. The police said Bad Shah Gul and Mujeeb allege dly barged into the victim`s house and sprayed him with bullets.

Later, they disappeared from the scene. The victim`s son, Gul Hameed, told police theyhad an enmity going on with the killers over a women issue. The police registered the case and began tracing the culprits.

BEGGAR LOOTED: Robbers deprived a beggar at a local shrine of over Rs35,000 after making him unconscious by giving him drugged juice on Monday.

Later, on the information of the beggar, the city police conducted raids at several places and arrested the looters from a room of a hotel in the old bus stand. The booty was also recovered from their possession. The accused were lodged in the lockup.

BOOKED: The police on Monday booke d nine heads of private and government schools for poor security arrangements, and 28 other people for renting out houses to non locals without sharing their bio-data with police.

The school buildings are located in the remote areas which could fall as an easy prey to militant attacks.

The police also arrested three Afghans for entering Pakistan illegally and sent them to prison. A statement issued from the DPO office said crackdown on anti-social elements had been intensified in view of the upcoming month of Muharram. Correspondent
