LARKANA: Expressing displeasure over allegedly converting some portion of gaoshala (abode for cows) into godowns and renting it out to certain infiuential people in the city, members of the Hindu community held a protest rally here on Friday.

In the lead of Anil Kumar, Kalyan Das and Lashmandas, the protesters carrying banners and placards demonstrated outside Larkana Press Club and chanted slogans against leaders of the Hindu Panchayat. Calling for early restoration of the occupied space, they said gaoshala had its own sanctity.

Disputing the protesters` claim, Larkana District Hindu Panchayat chairman Dr Dharmpal told Dawn on Friday that godowns had existed inside gaoshala for a long time and it had been a practice to rent them out to have certain earnings to run the abode ofcows,he said.-Correspondent
