LAHORE: A middle-aged person was allegedly shot dead by unidentified armed men here in Chuhng area on Tuesday and the motive behind his murder was said to be his second marriage.

Identified asNiazAhmad, 42, of Sahiwal, the man received two bullets in the chest and died instantly, a police of ficial said.

Quoting initial police inquiries, he said Niaz had contracted a second marriage and his relatives alleged that he was shot dead by the brothers of his second wife for marrying her without the consent of her f amily.

Police seized body of the man and shif ted it to the city morgue for autopsy. Police would register a case after receiving written application from the deceased`s family, the of ficial said.
