PCB: gate money

2014-11-06
EVEN if the Pakistani cricket team in the past did not perform well and disappointed many, it does not mean the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should not charge tickets from spectators.

Though spectator turn-out has been dwindling over the successive matches, the people still come to see the game for entertainment. Moreover, Pakistani expatriates in the UAE are always eager to support their team.As our own country has not seen international cricket since 2009 and the UAE has become our home ground, the PCB should not allow free entry in future.

Charging people some money, on lower rates perhaps, is not a big deal. At least, it is better than allowing free entry.

During the last series against South Africa, the entry to the Test matches was completely free. The PCB should at least set a ticket price to the tune of a token symbolic small amount.

It will be a source of revenue for PCB.

The PCB can charge as low as UA E dirham 10, 20 or 30. Free tickets could be given only to schoolchildren.
