THIS is apropos the letter by Mr. Fayaz Saleh Hussain (Nov 2). The events taking place these days in India are not only shameful but mentally disturbing.

We strongly condemn the violent actscommitted by the extremist of Shiv Sena.

This organisation has existed for decades but their actions have acquired prominence now probably owing to the tacit backing of the Modi administration. At this juncture we should also remember the efforts of Kulkarni and Malik Arjun who tried to show the other side of the coin.

We should not forget that an extremist is an extremist irrespective of religion, race or country.

Approximately 1.5 billion Hindus are living across the globe. On the whole they are a liberal, moderate and peaceful people who believe in non-violence, rule of law and equality for every individual. We all are human beings, and love, peace and purity is the inherent quality of all human beings.
