FAISALABAD: The Saddar police SHO was suspended on Thursday from service on charges of not registering the kidnap case of a six-year-old boy whose body was recovered on Wednesday.
City Police Officer Afzaal Kausar issued suspension order of SHO Javeed Iqbal and directed him to report to the police lines.
Action has been taken against the SHO who, instead of registering the kidnap case of Waseem, son of Umair of Rehmat Town, Dhudiwala, lodged report of his missing.
The SHO also did not inform his seniors about the kidnapping and recovery of Waseem`s body from the fields.
Umair alleged that Saddar police had demanded Rs4,000 to get the data of the man who called him (Umair) after reading an advertisement of Waseem`s disappearance.
