LAKLKI MARWAT: Health experts have called upon the workers of expanded programme on immunisation (EPI) to persuade parents to administer vaccine to their children against several diseases.
Addressing the concluding session of four-day training in Bannu on Sunday, they said that the EPI workers had a vital role in vaccination of children against 12 diseases. `Parents should be sensitised about the vaccination of children against the 12 deadly diseases,` they added.
The training was arranged by Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS).
Among others, district health officer Dr Rehman Afridi, EPI coordinator Dr Sajid, PRCS representative Syed Kamal and Dr Rahim Agha spoke on the occasion.
Experts said that raising awareness about usefulness of vaccination was inevitable to save children up to two years from 12 fatal diseases. They said that vaccines saved children from diseases therefore the EPI staff should educate parents about the importance of immunisation of their children.
At the end, PRCS secretary Syed Kamal distributed certificates among the participants of the training and gave away shields to district health officer and other health officials. Correspondent
