ANP leader hurt in gun attack

KARACHI: The general secretary of the Awami National Party, district west ward, was shot at and wounded in Orangi Town on Friday afternoon, where the party’s president of the same district had been gunned down a few days ago.

The Mominabad police said that 35-year-old Murad Khan was travelling in a chauffeur-driven car when armed motorcyclists attacked him near the ZMC park in Sector-11-E.

Two bullets hit him that pierced his chest. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later on to a private hospital on Stadium Road, where his condition was stated to be critical.

Murad Khan is the party’s general secretary in the district west, said the party spokesperson.
