KHAR: The political administration and security forces in a joint action on Tuesday demolished the houses of five militant commanders in Mamond tehsil of Bajaur Agency, official sources said.

They said that the personnel of Bajaur Levies and the security forces first dynamited and then torched the houses of militants in different villages of Damadola area.

A local administration official told Dawn that the militant commanders were wanted for their involvement in different subversive activities in the region. However, he said that the militants had been hiding for the last several months.

The official said that the security forces with the help of the local administration and people had intensified action against militants and their supporters to purge the agency of miscreants. Correspondent
