Vertical healthcare programmes granted funds, says minister

QUETTA: Provincial Health Minister Rehmat Saleh Baloch on Saturday said that all vertical healthcare programmes were given 100 per cent funds and all schemes on record had been completed.

Speaking at a ceremony held here, he stressed the need to focus on the national programme for family planning and primary healthcare in the province.

Finance minister Sardar Aslam Bizenjo, provincial minister for sports and culture Mujeebur Rehman Muhammad Hasni, MPAs Abdul Salam Baloch, Yasmin Lehri and Arifa Siddig, secretary health Anwar Javed Shahwani and director general health Shakir Baloch were present on the occasion.

Mr Baloch said that the health and education sectors were the coalition government`s priority when it was formed and after 15 years all vertical healthcare programmes were provided full funds. `When I took office as the health minister, doctors were protesting on streets and demanding safety. We provided a peaceful and safe environment for the doctors and they commenced performing their duties,` he said.
