Climate change

2016-02-07
T HE monster of global warming is rapidly moving this world on to an uncharted and dangerous path. The recent heavy blizzard in America, wildfires, rising temperatures, increasing sea level, rapidly melting glaciers, frequent floods and severe droughts across the globe attest to thisfact.

The previous agreements on global warming such as Kyoto Protocol, Copenhagen Conference and Montreal Pact have not borne any fruit and there is a big question mark on the implementation of the recent one in Paris.

The most important factor is that until and unless the biggest contributors of carbon dioxide the US and China show theirreadiness onthe Parisaccord on environmental degradation, poor nations would continue to suffer and some of the tiny islands would even disappear from the world map.

Therefore, there is a need for collective efforts andcoordinated approach.
