HYDERABAD: A big fire broke out in av auto parts godown and a house on Station Road here on Monday, causing huge losses to the owner.The blaze engulfed the entire ground plus twostorey building adjacent to a private bank`s branch.
Fireñghtersstartedextinguishing the fire after electricity supply to the area was suspended and the road was closed to traffic.
`I just don`t know what has happened,` reacted Mohammad Raees, owner of the shop and the building. `The area people have recorded complaints about fluctuation in voltage. It can be a short circuit,` he said.
The godown had tyres and motorbike spare parts including some plastic goods.
The ñre was so huge that fire fighters from two fire stations could not control it and volunteers rushed to the area to help them.
Two men, Islamuddin and Mir Mohammad, suffered burns while trying to extinguish the fire.
They were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital`s city branch.
The administration had orderedothershopsin the neighbourhood closed as a precautionary measure.
