Man shot dead by robbers

RAWALPINDI: A customer was gunned down by robbers at a mobile phone shop in Naseerabad on Monday.
Police said two motorcycle riders walked into the shop at Chakra Road.
When Waqar Ahmed, who was purchasing a cellphone, offered resistance the robbers shot him.
Ahmed died after he was taken to hospital.
A police spokesman said nothing was taken away by the robbers as they escaped after shooting the customer.
Meanwhile, two poultry traders were robbed of Rs1.6 million by six robbers in Naseerabad area.
Rais Jameel Abbasi lodged an FIR with the police saying that his driver left the city with Rs1 million to purchase chicken from Sargodha.
He stopped his mini-truck near Pirwadhai Mor to pick Zameer who was also going to Sargodha to purchase chicken and was carrying Rs600,000.
He said as Zameer was getting into the minitruck, six persons appearedatthe scene and snatched the cash from them.
Islamabad Armed men shot and injured a man during a robbery in the limits of Koral police station on Monday.
The police said Fahad Hamid went to a barber shop on a bike to pick his father Hamid Rasheed.
Two persons armed with weapons held him up at gunpoint when he parked the motorcycle in front of the shop.
The robbers asked him to hand over the motorcycle to them. In the meantime, his father came out of the shop and pushed one of the robbers.
However, the robbers fired at him and a bullet hit him in the abdomen.
The robbers escaped along with the bike.
