LAHORE: The United Democratic Front today [March 6] permitted its Members in the Assemblies and the Senate to attend the sessions provided the Government `implemented the Feb. 6 agreement and retraces all those steps which violate the agreement`.
In a resolution adopted at its meeting here, the Front made it clear that the release of Members of Assemblies and Senate, who had been detained after Feb 6, was of utmost importance in the context of the implementation of the agreement. The Front also permitted the three-member Parliamentary team, comprising Maulana Mufti Mahmud, Prof. Ghafoor Ahmed and Chaudhri Zahur Elahi, to continue its negotiations with the Government despite the fact that the Government had been `flouting` the agreement. Sheikh Mujib, the Chairman of Bangladesh`s sole political party, the Bangladesh Krishak Sramik Awami League, is expected to announce both the politburo and the political committee of his party.
