KARACHI: The Palestine Foundation Pakistan (PLF) organised a grand Palestine Solidarity Conference and an Iftar party at a local hall in Karachi as part of the `Palestine Month` campaign during Ramazan.

According to a press release issued here on Thursday, the conference and Iftar were attended by religious scholars from different schools of thought, political leaders, university teachers, intellectuals, renowned journalists, lawyers, influential figures and students from religious seminaries and universities.

Allama Syed Hassan Zafar Naqvi, Jamaat-i-Islami leader Dr Meraj-ul-Huda Siddiqui, President of Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen Sindh Allama Baqir Zaidi, President of Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan Allama Qazi Ahmed Noorani and Secretary General of the Palestine Foundation Pakistan Dr Sabir Abu Maryam addressed the conference.

The speakers stated that the people of Pakistan have always supported the Palestinians and it is now our responsibility, especially during the holy month of Ramazan, to continue the boycott of Israeli products and help alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

All sections participating in the conference urged people to keep their Sehr and Iftar tables free from products of companies that are directly or indirectly supporting Israel, as their contributions fuel the genocide of innocent people in Gaza and Lebanon.

The leaders announced that all segments of society will observe Al Quds Day on the last Friday of Ramazan and demanded that the government officially recognise and celebrate the day in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The speakers asserted that the US is the root cause of global problems. Whether it is the ongoing wave of terrorism in Pakistan or conspiracies to destabilise the country, the US government has always been at the forefront of harming Pakistan.

They further stated that after committing genocide in Gaza, the US government now seeks to politically annihilate the people of Gaza. However, the world must recognise that Palestine belongs to the Palestinians, while Israel is an illegitimate and usurping state.

The speakers emphasised that as Pakistanis, they uphold the ideology of the Father of the Nation, Quaidi-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and will not allow any leniency toward Israel.

They urged the people to continue their financial, political and moral support for the Palestinian cause.
