HYDERABAD: Employees of the Hyderabad circuit house on Tuesday called off their week-long strike against alleged humiliation by sons of an additional inspector general.
Sajjan Khaskheli, leader of the workers’ union, said the strike was called off on an assurance given by the commissioner and deputy commissioner of Hyderabad that no harm would come to them in future.
Commissioner Abbas Baloch, after his meeting with the protesting employees, expressed the hope that the issue of the AIG’s stay would be resolved soon. He told Dawn over phone that circuit house could not be left unattended as ministers and other guests visiting the city every day had to be provided the accommodation.
The commissioner said that the AIG was not using the suite meant for chief minister, rather other rooms in the north and south wings were under his use.
