NAROWAL: Three children, two girls and their cousin, drowned in Auj Nullah close to river Ravi in Shakargarh on Sunday. They had traveled to the picnic spot with their family.

Rescue 1122 spokesman Harmat Ali said a phone call was received from Chak Gunder in Shakargarh. He said rescue teams reached the spot as soon as the phone call was received. He said eight-year -old Anaya Sajid, Rafa Sajid (6) and Farooq Amir (8) died before getting any emergency treatment.

Naeem Akhtar, District Emergency Officer, said the children suddenly slipped into the storm water channel while playing on its bank.

He said the bodies were taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Shakargarh. — Correspondent
