Repatriationprocess 46 Afghan families moved to Torkham camp

BAH AWALPUR: Multan district administration and police took 46 Afghan nationals and their families in custody and transferred them to Torkham border camp under strict security on Sunday, for their repatriation to their homeland.

According to official sources, these Afghan families had been temporarily kept at the sports hostel in Multan. Initially 52 Afghan families had been identified for repatriation, out of which 46 were moved to Torkham camp.

MURDER: A man was brutally murdered on Sunday, allegedly by his two maternal uncles, who also seriously injured his father with iron rodsand clubs at Pull Balochan villageinthelimitsofMusafirkhan police station in Bahawalpur district.

As per the police, the suspects Bakhat Ali and Rang Ali attacked their nephew Muhammad Islam and their brother-in-law Azam with iron rods and clubs following a dispute over mobile phone`s earphones.

The father and son were critically injured in the attack, resulting in instant death of Islam. The body of Islam, along with the injured man, was shifted to hospital.

The police sources say the uncles and the nephew had family disputes and the earphone issue just triggered the attack.

The police have registered a murder and attempted murdercases and are conducting raids to arrest the fleeing suspects.

GIRL SHOT DEAD: A girl was allegedly shot dead by three men for refusing a marriage proposal at Mauza Murad Ali in the limits of Sahooka police station in Vehari district onSunday.

According to police, the suspects, Qurban, Salman and Maqsood wanted fifteen-yearold Sonia to marry one of their relatives, but she refused the proposal. Annoyed over her refusal, the suspects shot her dead after enteringherhouse.

Sahooka police registered a murder case against the suspects, who escaped after commit ting murder.

The girl`s body was shifted to Vehari DHQ Hospital for the postmortem examination.SUICIDE: An expat who was on a visit to his native city Lodhran to attend marriage of his elder brother, and attempted suicide by swallowing poisonous pills on Saturday, died at the Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) on Sunday.

As per police, Shahzaman (20), had a job in Dubai and was in Lodhran onleave.

On Saturday, he had an argument with his elder brother, Shahzaib, who was to marry on April 10, and in a fit of rage swallowed poisonous pills in their house. He was shifted to the BVH, Bahawalpur, where doctors tried to save his life, but to no avail.

`SUICIDE` BY SUSPECT: A suspect wanted by BastiMalook police allegedly died by suicide in his house at Adda Sadigwalafor fear of being arrested, on Sunday.

According to Basti Malook police in Lodhran district, a suspect, Imran, was wanted in a number of criminal cases.

The police, on a tip-off, conducted a raid on Imran`s house to arrest him.

On seeing police, Imrana locked himself in a room of his house.

The police party and his family members negotiated with him for over three hours to convince him to court arrest.

The suspect refused to open the door and allegedly shot himself in the head with a pistol. He died instantly.

The police took his body in custody and shifted it to hospital for the postmortem examination.
