Four injured in Indian firing along LoC

MUZAFFARABAD: Four members of a family were injured in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Saturday evening when Indian troops resorted to heavy shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC), officials said.
The casualties occurred in Dharoti Mohra village of the Nakyal sector in Kotli district, according to police and the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
`Indian troops committed ceasefire violation and targeted civilians with mortars, leaving four persons injured,` the ISPR said.
Senior Superintendent of Police in Kotli Chaudhry Zulgarnain Sarfraz toldDawn that one of the shells landed on a house at about 8pm, injuring Mohammad Naseer, 42; his wife Farzana Kausar, 35; mother Barkat Begum, 65; and son Ehsan Naseer, 12.
Two of the injured were hospitalised in the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Nakyal and the others were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Kotli because of their critical condition, he said.
According to the ISPR, Pakistani troops effectively responded to silence the Indian guns.
On April 17, four people were injured in Indian firing in Khuiratta sector of Kotli district and Samahni sector of Bhimber district.
Earlier on April 3, four people were injured in Abbaspur sector.
