TAXILA: Three people of a family suffocated to death while repairing a water pump in a well in Pind Sarhal in Jand tehsil of Attock on Saturday.

Police sources said two brother, Sadaqat Ali and Rafaqat Ali, were busy in repairing water pump in the well when they fell unconscious due to poisonous gases accumulated in the well and later died.

When their cousin went into the well to rescue them also lost his life.

Three other persons who tried to retrieve the bodies also fell unconscious and were admitted to different hospitals of the area.

Police handed over the bodies to the families for burial after fulfilling legal and medical formalities.
