CM`s surprise visit AC, DSP penalised for wheat centre `mess

OKAR A: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif during a surprise visit to Head Sulemanki wheat procurement centre on Saturday suspended from service an assistant commissioner and the Deepalpur DSP on complaints about inadequate arrangements.
The chief minister found long queues of wheat growers at the food department`s procurement centre and expressed his resentment. Many farmers complained about a lack of facilities in extreme weather conditions and misbehaviour of the officials responding to which the chief minister suspended AC Khalid Umar Qureshi and DSP Mirza Abdul Quddus.
There were also complaints about discrimination in gunny bags` distribution and improper entries in the revenuerecords.The chief minister asked Deputy Commissioner Saima Ahad to herself supervise the arrangements at the wheat procurement centres and submit a report after conducting an inquiry into alleged apathy of officials.
Speaking to farmers, he said the PML-N government was trying its best to facilitate the farmers and strengthen agriculture.

He was speaking to the lawyers and the students of law college at the distribution of prizes to the position-holders in academia, sports and co-curricular activities.
