MANSEHRA: The police on Monday arrested a man for assaulting a physically-challenged girl at her house here.

“The man assaulted a 10-year-old physically challenged girl who has been hospitalised,” Arif Javed, SP investigations, told reporters.

He said the girl was alone at home in Jalalabad as her family had gone for shopping.

He said Mohammad Arif, who was white-washing their house, assaulted the girl and fled the scene.

The police officer said the family took the victim to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital after she went unconscious.

The police arrested the suspect following the family got registered an FIR.

Sources in police said the medical report had also confirmed that the victim was assaulted by the suspect.

Also, stray dogs have bitten seven people, including four children, in Behali area.

The locals said because of large number of stray dogs they were afraid of sending their children to school. They also complained about shortage of anti-rabies vaccine at hospitals.
