Youth, four boys drown in couple of incidents

MUZAFFARGARH: A young man and a boy drowned; one of them in River Chenab and the other in Muzaffargarh Canal, in two separate incidents, while Rescue 1122 divers later retrieved their bodies and handed these overto the families.
According to Rescue 1122 sources, Asad (18) drowned in River Chenab`s Spur No 2, on Eid day (Wednesday) while swimming.
On receiving an emergency call about the incident by locals, a team of Rescue 1122 divers reached the spot and started searching for the young man.
The divers searched for Asad for six hours on Wednesday but failed to locate him. They again looked for him for five hours on Thursday butto no avail. Finally, the body of the youth surfaced on the river on Friday.
Rescuers fished out the body and handed it over to the family of the deceased.
In the other incident, nine-year-old Saqib acci-dentally fell into the Muzaffargarh Canal in Kot Addu area near Taunsa Barrage.
Rescue 1122 divers retrieved his body after a four-hour-long operation and handed it over to his family.
TOBA TEK SINGH: Jhang Rescue 1122 divers retrieved the bodies of two boys, who had drowned in TrimmuHead Sindhnai canal on Wednesday, after hectic efforts.
According to Rescue officials, the boys were taking selfies on the canal bank when one of them accidentally fell into deep water. On seeing him drowning, the other jumped into the canal to save him, but he too drowned.
Meanwhile, a minor boy drowned in a canal near Wattoo Chowk, Tandlianwala, on Friday.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, Waqar (4), son of Mahi Khan, went to the canal bank with his mother to give bath to buffaloes, when he suddenly fell into deep water and drowned.
His body was later retrieved by Rescue 1122 divers and handed over to the boy`s family.
