Police to respond to every single complaint: CCPO

LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana says 100 per cent free registrations of the complaints will be ensured at thefrontdesk andthrough calls at emergency No 15.

He told a press conference at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines on Friday he would personally monitor the registration of cases to successfully implement the policy to ensure the protection of life and property of the citizens.

He said free and timely registration of FIRs and fairinvestigationwerethe topmost priorities to ensure justice for the victim and conviction for the perpetrator.

He said the best polic-ing is the prevention and eradication of crime and holding the neck of the criminal for the promotion of peace and stability in society. `I request the media to launch a mass awareness campaign that if a nominated suspect of any case is innocent, he/ she should not get a bail but produce himself before police and they will not arrest him.

The CCPO said the police will not arrest any citizen in fake cases.

He said a dedicated wing would be established to probe financial/white collar crimes and also announced simplifying the FIR registration procedure in financial embezzlement matters.

`The old procedure of verification through multiple stages has beenrolled back,` he said.

However, keeping in view the prevalence of such cases in our society, verification under SOPs for nominated suspects is necessary, he said.

He said that they will try to ensure the submission of challans in 30 days after investigation of cases.

He also resolved to take steps to fulfil DSP seats at the Lahore CIA.

Mr Kamyana said a crackdown was launched on protocol culture and would not let anyone harass the public through the gun and guard culture at public places.

He said that SPs and DSPs will also conduct open katcheries in their respective areas soon to provide justice at their doorsteps.
