Ghee warehouse, flour mills sealed for stock fudging

GUJRAT: The local administration sealed a warehouse of edible oil/ghee and a flour mills for forged entries in stocks and non-declaration of inventory here on Monday.

Gujrat Assistant Commissioner Umar Daraz Gondal along with a team of respective officials inspected a warehouse of edible oil along Railway Road where he found a stock of oil as well as hundreds of bags carrying rice.

The owner had not declared the available stock with the concerned authorities in the local administration upon which the AC immediately sealed the place.

Similarly, the AC raided two flour mills in the city suburbs and found irregularities in the affairs of those mills upon which he imposed a fine of Rs50,000 on the owner of Ghausia flour mills and later on sealed Sultan flour mills.

Faisal Shahzad, the manager of flour mills, was also arrested after registration of a case against him for tampering with the record register through bogus entries.

The AC said the wheat quota of the said mills would also be cancelled for committing gross violation and warned the other flour mills and management of warehouses of different food items to abide by the government rules.

KILLED: A man was killed and four others were injured in an attack by a rival party over an issue of love marriage at Dhool Kalan village in Tanda police precincts.

A brother of the deceased had contracted a love marriage with the daughter of main suspect some time ago.

Reports said at least a dozen people being led by one Azam had allegedly attacked two brothers Faisal, Sarfraz and their three other close relatives when they were about to board a boat at the bank of the Chenab to cross the river.

The assailants shot dead Sarfraz and injured four others including his brother Faisal who had contracted love marriage with a daughter of Azam.

The other injured are Qasim, Hamid Ali, Asghar Khan and Nawazish Ali who were shifted to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital. The assailants managed their escape whereas the body of the deceased was later handed over to heirs af ter autopsy at ABST H. A case was lodged against six nominated and five unidentified suspects under sections 302, 324, 148 and 149 of Pakistan Penal Code on the report of Nawazish Ali, the brother of deceased.

Police said it had collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and Saddar DSP Akram Gondal had been tasked with arresting the suspects soon.
