Four killed in tribal clash in DG Khan

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Four tribesmen were killed and one suffered critical injuries in a bloody clash between Dolani and Bunu tribes here on Tuesday in the vicinity of Rujhan police station.

A clash between Dolani and Bunu tribesmen over a five-year-old enmity erupted in front of Rujhan tehsil headquarters hospital when Dolani group opened fire on Bunu men as a result four members of Bunu tribe Tanveer, Ibrahim, Abdul Razag and Dad Bunu were killed on the spot on Rujhan city road while Dildar Dolani sustained critical bullet injuries.

It merits mentioning that enmity between Dolani and Bunu tribes had started five years back over the issue of theft of a motorbike of Dolani tribe.

After the incident on Tuesday, the district police conducted a flag march in Rujhan city to restore law and order.

Regional Police Officer retired Capt Sajjad Hasan Khan visited the crime scene and its surroundings and ordered immediate arrest of the criminals involved in theincident.

DRIVER KILLED: Unidentified armed men killed a truck driver and kidnapped its conductor allegedly over the dispute of lease of gravel at Mauza Lanju in the vicinity of Doli Border Military Police.

Truck drivers commuting on inter-provincial Indus highway threw the trafñc outofgearforseveral hours by blocking the road in protest against killing of driver Hashmat Ali, resident of Obaro (Sindh), and kidnapping of conductor Fazalur Rehman.

When this correspondent contacted political assistant to tribal area Rajanpur/BMP commandant Qasim Gill, he said there was an issue of jurisdiction between partially functioning Punjab police station Goth Mazari and BMP Doli station over registration of the case.

`Now BMP is registering the case against culprits at Doli despite the report of the patwari regarding the happening of the incident in the Punjab police area,` he said.

To a query, Gill said there was an old enmity between Mazari and Bugti tribes over the ownership of leased land of Mauza Lanju.
